With 40+ years of ocean transport industry experience, Beverly brings a wealth of insight to the USSA Team. She is responsible for Carrier and Member relations and the coordination of staff activities, as well as negotiation of effective rate and service contracts. Her primary contributions have been the expansion of USSA from an export association to a global perspective, and the implementation of electronic technologies. Under her leadership, the Association has moved into a new, online contract management platform, developed EDI links with Carrier partners to efficiently provide member shipment data to USSA, implemented a Members-only archive of documents, and advanced a social media and e-marketing presence.
Tom’s 40 years of Carrier experience affords a thorough understanding of pricing, documentation, and FMC regulations, offering support to Members for matters ranging from contract discrepancies to mis-freighted B/Ls to Carrier service issues. Acting as day-to-day liaison between Members and Carriers, his expertise resolves disputes so that Members can concentrate on other responsibilities.
With 35 years in the shipper industry, Bruce brings a strong analytical background in logistics and supply chain optimization. Priorities include providing strategic support and leadership in the areas of information technology and its application in managing the accurate data and information needs of USSA and its members.
Through the USSA consortium, FMC has access to competitive rates by leveraging the member volumes and capabilities, best-in-class information technology and up-to-date information about the shipping industry. USSA provides FMC with a cost effective way to optimize its logistics spend.
I like the fact that USSA partnered with GT Nexus. With this tool I can always see exactly what my freight rates are.
Amcol International was looking for the ability to achieve the competitive rates that higher volume shippers are able to obtain. We found this with USSA. Through our membership we have not only achieved the improved rates, but we now have the ability to access a broader group of carriers, giving us security in our shipping options.
Through membership in the USSA we have gained more competitive rates and a reliable network of other exporters. Joining the USSA has been a positive experience with great results.
The ability to leverage ocean logistics services has been a very positive tool in reducing our overall spend, i.e. such as gaining exposure to various IT and systems solutions and ultimately entering into an IT solution (GT Nexus) at a significantly discounted cost. The ability to openly communicate and bench-marking of services/rates with a group of shippers is a very positive tool.
